Press Release

Ortana is pleased to announce native support for Wasabi’s new AI platform Wasabi AiR, across the entire Cubix product range.

[London, 11th September 2024] - Ortana Media Group is excited to introduce our native integration with Wasabi Technologies, the hot cloud storage company's new Wasabi AiR intelligent media storage across the entire Cubix product range. The integration enables seamless content indexing and the ability to use a wide range of LLMs, with innovative new ways to search for assets.

By natively integrating the Wasabi AiR API, Cubix is now able to add Wasabi AiR to our growing range of AI services that clients can use in highly adaptable workflows to suit their specific needs. Supporting all of the AI indexing features of Wasabi AiR, you can now easily index content for people, tags, logos, text in speech, OCR, and more. All the metadata generated can then be viewed within the Wasabi AiR portal but is also extracted automatically for use within the Cubix Halo portal for onward distribution to downstream systems.

Thanks to the existing integration Cubix already has for Wasabi hot cloud storage, as well as the addition of transcoding, Cubix will manage the end-to-end process of transcoding (if required) content and then uploading it to Wasabi hot cloud storage ready for indexing. Users have complete control within Cubix to set exactly what AI indexes AiR should perform on different content types, allowing you to tailor the business rules to suit your needs.

  • Full management of content transcoding, upload to Wasabi storage, indexing via Wasabi AiR with asset management and purging of content once indexed.

  • Metadata can be viewed within the Wasabi AiR portal and is also fully extracted and imported for use within the Cubix Halo Portal, as well as for downstream systems/workflows.

  • Supports all the Wasabi AiR index types - including people, tags, logos, text in speech, OCR, and more.

  • Full control over what AI types are triggered for what content type.

  • Support for a wide range of codecs including FFV1, DNxHR, DPX image sequences, DCP and more.

Using context-based searching (e.g. a person, in a place, with an object, and a brand etc) within the Cubix Halo portal, this integration will allow media organisations to enrich their metadata for search, and content monetisation, create Ad insertion markers, and allow producers and editors to instantly find the exact footage they need.
